Trinny and Susannah Undress the Nation

Lifestyle, 8.30pm

More than 1.5 million bras are sold in Britain every week but Trinny Woodall (pictured) and Susannah Constantine are convinced most women are not buying the correct fit. The fashionistas decide to entice women from one town to come together and be fitted for the right size bra. The result is an amusing mass throwing-aside of ill-fittings garments as Trinny and Susannah give lessons aimed at changing the way women feel about their breasts. During this new series they also examine some of the worst commercial uniforms and take on the challenge of redesigning the uniform for a supermarket chain. They also launch a campaign to persuade women they should be dressing for their shape and not their dress size.

America's Next Top Model 9

Fox8, 7.35pm

It's surely a nice twist that living doll Gemma Ward rose to supermodel status after being picked out of the audience to take part in Australia's Search For A Supermodel (a spin-off from the original British TV show). She didn't win but pictures of the Perth girl having a go were enough to launch an astonishing international career. Now we have reached the ninth season of America's Next Top Model and one is left wondering how many of the previous eight winners lived up to the show's title. Here comes a fresh group of 13 girls living under one roof in a Los Angeles mansion in a highly accelerated modelling boot camp supervised by the show's creator, former supermodel Tyra Banks. The finalists will end up in Shanghai and Beijing but the pity of it is that all this took place in September, only a couple of weeks after Fox8 rounded off the screenings of cycle eight, in which the final Sydney scenes were shown in the US last March. Foxtel has been setting a hot pace showing imported shows quick smart and doubtless enjoys a corporate advantage in next week being able to bring us the newest editon of the Fox-produced American Idol within hours of its American screenings. However, September to January means ANTM has been lumbered with a pathetically slow boat from China. (PS. I could tell you the winner, easy-peasy, but I won't).
