Renting DVDs

If you enjoy watching the latest release movies then the introduction of the DVD and the internet has made renting DVDs easier than your ABCs. Traditionally we have gone to the video store to hire a movie on vhs or bets tape. Today if we go to the video store we are hiring a latest release DVD movie of which there are usually 50 in a store. The old days of rushing to get one of the 5-10 latest release movies on the shelf before someone else beats you to it are long gone.

Renting a DVD can be done online at online video stores such as Bigpond Movies and Quickflix who have a wide range of DVDs to rent or buy online.

Bigpond Movies provide those who love watching DVDs but have difficulty getting to the video store easy access to all the latest release movies. They have a great range of latest release movies and plans to suit all budgets. If you have Internet access through BigPond then you save even more money when renting a DVD.

BigPond Movies offer plans that start from as low as $9.95 per month for BigPond members with fast, free delivery of your DVD with no late fees. BigPond Movies offers a one-month free trial that will see you eligible to receive 3 DVDs at a time.

Non BigPond Members plans start from $16.95, which allows you to hire 4 movies each month.

If you watch a lot of movies on DVD then you can save money with one of the larger plans. Renting 10 DVDs per month as a BigPond member costs only $19.95 while non BigPond members pay $26.95.

The other major player in online DVD rentals is Quickflix.

Quickflix offer you a 14-day free trial with unlimited movies available for rent.

The cheapest plan on offer through Qucikflix is $9.95 for two (2) movies per month but you can only hire 1 DVD at a time.

If you take the family to the movies once a fortnight then you might want to look at the 3 DVDs at a time rent of 10 movies each month for $29.95.

If you want to rent movies online then you will find that it is certainly convenient with a reply-paid envelope delivered with your DVDs to return them at your convenience after you have watched them by simply dropping them into a post box.

Remember that there are no late fees when renting a DVD online. That's something we don't all have time to do, returning that DVD before 7pm.

The only downside to hiring a DVD online is that you can't watch it immediately. This is one advantage that the video store will continue to have over online rental stores. If we do feel like watching a movie then it's easy enough to jump in the car and go for a quick drive. However, if you are a regular movie watcher then you might want to have a couple DVDs on hand and online movie rental is probably a good product for you.
