Movie Trailers
Movie trailers are a great way for movie companies to advertise their upcoming movies. There are always movie trailers at the movies or on your dvd, vhs tape or even online at movie sites like this one where movie companies use trailers as an advertising vehicles for to promote their movies.
Many people enjoy watching movie trailers because these generally show the best one liner or action scene from the movie leaving you wanting to see the rest of the film. Usually if you enjoy the movie trailer then you will also appreciate the movie when you go watch it at the cinema or at home on your dvd player.
However, sometimes you are left disappointed with the movie trailer better than the actual movie you have just hired or paid to see. This is rare though. A movie trailer will generally create a buzz about an upcoming new release and give you something to look forward to.
We see trailers on TV, before movies at the cinemas, these advertisements even appear on dvds we buy or rent. There is certainly ample opportunity to find out if a movie will be something that we will enjoy or whether you need to have an acquired taste for it like you do with wine drinking.
To some people, trailers are advertising and annoying, but to real movie buffs, they love seeing new trailers or previews that give them an insight into the quality of the movie. With so many movies to choose from, watching a free movie trailer can be the difference between you watching movie abc or watching movie xyz.
This all translates to money for the movie companies which is why they spend theirs in advertising by producing free movie previews for people to watch or even download online.
Some people aren't happy with the movie trailers being played at the start of a dvd when your waiting to watch the movie you just hired. Movie buffs dont see it as advertising, they can now sit in front of their computer and enjoy the most popular way of watching trailers, on the internet.
Movie companies are even creating "online games" or ARG (alternate reality games) that movie fans can play online and follow puzzles and clues through out the internet in lead up to the movie release. This new type of interaction is becoming very popular and creates additional hype for a movie release.

As produced by heavyweight Stephen Woolley (THE CRYING GAME) and headlined by Sally Hawkins (HAPPY-GO-LUCKY) and Bob Hoskins (THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY), this period docudrama brings to life a pivotal event from British history. In 1968, women's rights took a broad leap forward when workers at the Ford Dagenham automobile plant -- buckling beneath deplorable working conditions rightly perceived as gender discrimination -- suddenly stormed out into the streets and began to strike in protest of the unfair treatment levied at them. Little could they have foreseen the ramifications that this courageous and noble act would engender in successive years. Christopher Smith directs.
