Synopsis
Shaun of The Dead is more like three movies in one. It combines three movie genres: romance, comedy and horror, making Shaun of The Dead not your typical horror flick. Imagine the cast from The Full Monty encountering zombies from George Romero's Land of the Dead and you'll basically get an idea of Shaun of the Dead.
The film’s title surely does not manifest the real ingredients that make up the movie as a whole. A lot may be thinking that it is just another brutal, morbid and reckless horror film that would just leave you grossed out in the end. Surprisingly, Shaun of The Dead gives viewers time to rest. Yes, there is a time to laugh a bit and breathe for a while before yet another exhilarating, screamfest scene. Sounds interesting, don't you think?
Though some may find the movie title not too appealing that they prefer to read first whatever synopsis they could get.
Shaun is the lead character, the hapless man who gets caught up in the zombie scare of his life. His world started to fall apart when his girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield) dumped him. He thought as if it was the end of the world. But as soon as the devil-like zombies started coming and began to ruin the earth, Shaun realized that this may be his chance to win his girlfriend back. To do that, Shaun thought that he should try to save everyone from the zombies. This is to make up for his mistakes and to prove to Liz that he’s worth a second chance.
Shaun of The Dead is a peculiar romantic-comedy-horror film that everyone would surely love specially if you do not require your movies to always make perfect, logical sense. Because, honestly, the movie will require a lot of suspension of disbelief. But you'll be rewarded with great laughs and scares the whole time.
