Synopsis

The story of the Academy Award film of Ridley Scott is from the best-selling book of Mark Bowden entitled "Black Hawk Down: A Story of Modern War". Packed with actions, dramas, and a glimpse of history, "Black Hawk Down" is a perfect movie for people who wonder what really happens in a war.

This movie, which is co-produced by renowned Jerry Bruckheimer and Ridley Scott, is about the Army Rangers who were brought to the city of Mogadishu to capture Somali warlords Abdi Hasan Awale Qeybdiid and Osman Ali Atto. The twist started when two Black Hawk helicopters were downed by Somali militia after the American soldiers' successful operation. "Black Hawk Down" depicts soldiers trying to save their injured personnel. All the hardships, sacrifices, breakdowns, and deaths of the other soldiers who were left in the field were the focus of this 2002 film.

Anyone who who has seen the "Black Hawk Down" can feel the tension and cold sweat of the soldiers in the mission. While trying to keep one another alive, the characters in the movie have their own struggles and conflicts that make "Black Haw Down" more interesting and moving. The film, released by Columbia Picture, also focuses on the struggles of Captain Steele (Isaacs), SFC. Jeff Sanderson (Fichtner), Chief Warrant Officer Mike Durant (Eldard), and Delta operators Randy Shughart (Strong) and Gary Gordon (Coster-Waldau).

Ridley Scott was pretty successful in imparting to the audience the things that may happen to soldiers when their missions go wrong. He was also able to make moviegoers understand the condition of American soldiers whenever they go to the battlefield.

In addition, the acting of lead characters Josh Hartnett, Tom Sizemore, Ewan McGregor, and William Fichtner were more effective than when they did the movie "Pearl Harbor". Slawomir Idziak's cinematography and Steve Zaillian and Ken Nolan's screenplay also made "Black Hawk Down" more convincing and impressive.

"Black Hawk Down" received various awards and recognitions including Academy Award for Best Sound and Best Editing. It also had several nominated from other prestigious award-giving bodies such as the AFI Film Award and WGA Award.
